The Reception
Tied the knot! The Wedding Ceremony will follow the guide lines set by the religious service and the legal requirements of the Marriage vows. Normally, your Photographer will require approx. 1 hour for the necessary shots. On arrival at your chosen venue your Master of Ceremony will greet all your guests (they usually arrive earlier) and then the happy couple and Wedding Party after their photographs have been taken.
The Receiving Line
The receiving line offers a formal opportunity for all the guests to meet, congratulate and exchange a few words with the Bride and Groom, their parents and/or chosen friends.
The usual procedure is for the receiving line to welcome guests as they enter the chosen location where the meal will be served.
The normal sequence by tradition first the hosts (the Brides mother and father, or representative), then the Grooms mother and father (or representative), followed by the Bride and Groom then normally the Bridesmaids and last but not least the Best Man. All the Wedding guests are announced by name.
Once everyone is sat at their respective tables the Master of Ceremony will announce the upstanding of the guests and formally introduce the Bride and Groom.
Toasts And Speeches
The toasts and speeches traditionally take place at the meal and during the teas and coffees. Your Master of Ceremony will announce firstly the Father of the Bride, secondly the Groom and last but not least the Best Man or representatives.
The Cutting of the Cake
At Braveheart we generally have the formal cake cutting at the end of the speeches. We feel it gives everyone the chance to photograph the happy couple and puts that little bit more emphasis on an old tradition. We even provide you with a scaled down version of the Wallace Sword to add that extra touch.
Presentations
If there are any presentations to be made to respective mothers etc we will organise waitresses in hand to uplift and hold any bouquets or presents in order for you to present them easily at hand. (Hankies for mums tears at this point are in the
Toastmasters pocket!)
Evening Set-Up
After the cake cutting and or presentations have been made the guests will be politely asked to congregate in another room (if possible) for a short period. This is to allow us to clear all the tables and set up for the evenings entertainment. This normally only takes approx 15mins maximum and also allows for extras placings to be made should there be more guests for the Evening Reception.
